Have walked by this place many times, but my first time actually going in for a meal. The food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. Great place for a family dinner, or just a romantic dinner for 2.
Anthony, the great personality welcoming you to Bottega Restaurant at 70th and 2nd, is a maestro of magic when it comes to food and ambience, having created this superb 2nd Avenue gem that we love for its amazing antipasti, creative cocktails and some of the most fabulous specials in the UES restaurant scene. (Check out their soups, halibut and branzino!) From the minute you stroll into Anthony's welcoming food festival in the well appointed and sleek modern dining room (past the lovely and welcoming patio space which is a favorite for our pup who's treated like a king by the folks who make Bottega one of our favorites!), one is in awe of the walls of wine racks featuring some terrific vintages and hidden jewels from around Italy and the world. From the beautiful bar stocked with the standards as well as some surprising eclectics that allow you to explore your inner mixologist, one feels at home, ready to be pampered, well fed and treated like the friends you've always wanted to be in a place that takes two things more seriously than anything else - it's food and it's clientele. Become part of its family and you won't be disappointed.
Amazing service, yummy drinks and delicious food. Especially this brunch menu. The smoked salmon eggs Benedict is my absolute favorite, as well as the steak and eggs. An upper east side gem!!
Went for lunch, it was delicious! Very friendly staff, great experience. We got the special ravioli with eggplant and vodka sauce, chicken milanese, and penne with tomato sauce. Will definitely be returning!

I visited Bottega a few weeks ago for a birthday party, and had an amazing experience. We had most of the restaurant, with a few regular diners outside. They prepared a lot of little appetizers to get us started, and when we all sat down for lunch, promptly took our orders. Since I have a few allergies, they were easily able to accommodate an already set menu. From delicious salads, to salmon, to dessert, everything was amazing. They constantly kept everyone's drinks full, and were very attentive. I loved the salmon, it was cooked to perfection. Everyone absolutely devoured the tiramisu. Make sure you stop by, next time you're in the area!
My friend and I come here regularly for dinner. Lovely ambiance (we always prefer one of the tables in the back for privacy), good service, always greeted warmly. My friend always enjoys his meals here. The wine is always excellent too. I am vegan so my choices are limited, but I do enjoy the pasta with vegetables. Our only complaint is that the pasta dish is $26.... overpriced for such a simple dish. I love the restaurant but got to say. none of the other Italian restaurants in the area charge anywhere near that much for just pasta and some vegetables. Lower the price please?
We came for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was mainly empty with the exception of about 5 other tables. There is no lunch menu (which was disappointing, lunch and dinner are the SAME menu). Ordered the endive salad, warm mushroom salad, pasta vongole and baby squid with spinach. All of the food was excellent! We loved that we were able to leisurely sit and relax for our lunch. Overall, would recommend! But come for dinner as prices as the same.
